Adding binary numbers explained in 2 minutes

I put this together for my online Computer Science 20 class.

I’m going to be adding more screencasts/powerpoint-casts to the course during this school year. Watch here for more in the future.

  1. Thanks for posting the video. I’ve already added a link to it for my students.

What tool did you use to produce it? We’ve been looking at several.

  3. Thanks for the link, Brian. I hope your students find it a useful resource.

I used Camtasia and Powerpoint for this. Camtasia is an excellent screencast production tool and it includes a tool that makes it easy to record powerpoint presentations. I recorded the audio simultaneously with the video, although it is possible to record or edit the voiceover later in the production process.

If you are looking for a tool for doing quick and easy screencasts, I suggest Jing, which is free (my favourite kind of application) and available for both Mac and Windows.

  7. Your welcome, Khanna. It’s good to know that what I’m producing is helpful to others.
