Simplify
Being the D’Arcy wannabe that I am, I’m following his lead into the land of simplicity. Maybe this is the blog equivalent of cleaning up the yard and putting away all the summer decorations before winter comes.
I’ve changed to a cleaner theme (Blueprint) and fewer widgets on the page. I’ve considered finding a bare minimum theme with just the blog title, subtitle and posts on the page but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be that austere. Interestingly, the site will now have more graphic presence when viewed on an iPhone/iPod Touch than if viewed through a regular web browser.

Looks really good Rob. I was looking for a simplistic theme a while back, but never found one I liked. This one is very nice.
Only thing I don’t like … it doesn’t seem that I can comment on your post if I am viewing the main page (multi-posts) and no one has yet commented on your post. I understand why (both functionally and aesthetically), but I am also a click-reductionalist.
Looks great!

Oops. That lack of a comment link is something that hadn’t occurred to me, but when I look at it now I understand what you mean. I suppose someone could click on the title of the post to get to the post’s page, but that might not be intuitively obvious for someone who just stumbled upon this site. My only defence is that I just downloaded the theme then activated it, but I didn’t create it. Maybe a little bit of tweaking is in order.
And I think your current theme looks nice and clean. I was considering using the same one (or D’Arcy’s new one or Jen’s) but decided I didn’t want to look like a follower.
